Location
Ratoath is a vibrant and very well served commuter town located in south County Meath, the town is centred on the point where the R125 and R155 regional roads meet. In the 2006 census, the population was 7,249, and by 2016 the population had reached 9,533. The Broad Meadow River flows through the town.
The location is ideal, perfect for city centre commuter with the M3 and M2 motorways only a few minutes’ drive. Some local amenities include Tayto Park, Fairyhouse Racecourse, Tattersalls, Avoca Living Shop and Blancardstown shopping centre all within easy commute.
Most of Ratoath’s adult population commutes to Dublin to work. More than three quarters of the population travelled to work by car. In 2011 10.9% of the workforce was unemployed compared to the national average of 19%. This may be due to the small percentage of the Ratoath workers employed in the construction sector, with Ratoath having more people than average from higher socio-economic classes.
